LuAnn L. Bennett, LEED AP
President & Owner
Ms. Bennett leads Bennett Group with over 30 years of experience in the real estate world. A seasoned businesswoman, she began her career in real estate in her late husband’s office where she assisted in growing the business from a small real estate ownership and property management firm to a substantial real estate development firm and office building owner and operator. More recently she managed the movement of the firm into the real estate service area, building upon many years of experience as a developer, owner and operator of both commercial and residential buildings to provide quality real estate services. Ms. Bennett is a LEED accredited professional and works primarily in areas of sustainable construction, business development, management, financial and legal services. In 2008, she was appointed by Governor Tim Kaine to serve on the Climate Change Commission for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Ms. Bennett currently serves on the following boards: The Virginia Health Care Foundation, Charity Works Advisory Board and National Children's Museum.
Mr. Owens has coordinated the firm’s public affairs at both the federal and local levels for the last 25 years. His contacts extend from the halls of Government to the individuals who lead both community-based organizations and private businesses. It is his skillful outreach to the public and private sectors and community and labor leaders that ensures the achievement of project goals. He is deeply committed to extending job opportunities and training through real estate development and has a proven track record of achieving these goals through the District of Columbia Minority Opportunity Business Council, First Source Agreements, and other public and private vehicles for ensuring minority and women-owned business participation in our projects. Mr. Owens has been an invaluable member of the Washington, DC community dating back to his award-winning career as a member of the Washington Redskins. Mr. Owens has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati, a Juris Doctorate from Antioch Law School and an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the University of Cincinnati. Brig gives his free time to the community through the following boards: NFL Players Trust Foundation, University of Cincinnati Executive Council, Venture Philanthropy Partners, Shaw Thanksgiving Food Committee, National Council for Educational and Human Development of the George Washington University, Angles University Development Foundation , VQ Orthocare, Greater Washiongton Sports Alliance and the Greater Washington Community Foundation. He also developed a highly recognized Leadership Drug Prevention Program in Washington, D.C. high schools called Super Leaders.
Senior Vice President
Mr. Hauser has 25 years of experience in real estate and construction and currently serves as the managing director of the firm. During his years of leading integrated teams including contractors, consultants, and tenant and lender representatives, Mr. Hauser refined his open-book, collaborative team approach, allowing each member of the team to become fully committed to and vested in the success of the project. Stakeholders are strongly encouraged to provide input and in return are fully informed as to the full impact of each alternative, particularly as it pertains to schedule, budget and building aesthetics. Mr. Hauser earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine and his Masters of Business Administration from American University.
Mr. Bowen has 20 years of real estate and construction experience, including leasing, consulting and financing. He is responsible for compliance with client requirements as well as construction and project management and accounting. Mr. Bowen oversees the daily operations regarding physical assets, tenant satisfaction, contract services, ongoing construction, engineering and life safety. He has extensive experience in the construction and subsequent management of private, Government, institutional and multifamily space. The breadth of Mr. Bowen’s experience makes him an invaluable member of the management team and critical to leading Bennett Group’s future direction and growth. Mr. Bowen earned his Bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary.
Assistant Project Manager
Ms. Pfefferkorn serves as the lead point of contact for Bennett Group and provides primary support to the Project Management team in the areas of bid process and project tracking. She provides architectural support in the office and also deals with human resources. Ms. Pfefferkorn received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from the Catholic University of America in Architecture.
Mr. Ewers supports the President in the day to day logistics here at Bennett Group. Mr. Ewers is also responsible for developing and updating marketing materials, the company website and internal databases. Additionally, he supports the project management team with the submittal, ordering, proposal and bidding process. Mr. Ewers received his BA degree from Hillsdale College with a major in Economics & Business Administration.
